Why Use a Designer?

Working with an interior designer is not only a smart choice but can be fun as well. By using an interior designer you avoid many of the costly "do-it-yourself" mistakes and relieve some of the pressure caused by doing the work your self.

A good designer will spend time getting to know you, your family and your lifestyle before starting your design project.

At John-William Interiors, we understand the challenges of furnishing your home. It begins with an idea and someone who can make your vision a reality. The interiors we create for you revolve around your needs, your taste and your lifestyle.

Initial design and budget consultation
The first step in the design process is to have a consultation with one of our designers to discuss the scope of the project. This includes talking about the vision for the space and establishes a budget guideline to work within.

Space Planning
This process involves the designer using your blueprints or a drafted room plan to determine which furniture pieces will work within the space. Space planning gives you a visual of how each furniture item will be placed within the space, where your walkways will be and how this will relate to the way you and your family move within the house.

Plan Review
This process involves a meeting between you and the designer to go over the placement of each piece of furniture to ensure that you are comfortable with the plan and scale of the layout.

Specification
This is where the designer assists in the selection of finishes, fixtures and products for your home. These items would include (but are not limited to):
  • Paint colors, wall textures and finishes
  • Tile and stone selections
    (walls and countertops)
