Transforming Glass into Art
Kristine Daniels has been handcrafting sculptural glass accessories since 1994. What started out as a hobby in photography soon became an exploration with light, color, line and detail in glass. She began to throw out tradition and “take the road less traveled.”
The slumping technique with glass results in an appearance distinct from hand blown glass. The glass is cut in the shape of the mold and placed on top of it before the kiln is heated, like the Roman period where open vessels, such as bowls and plates, were produced by forming a glass sheet over a form. Slumped glass is simultaneously translucent and textured with a unique surface that retains the imprint of the hands that shaped the mold.
Every piece of Daniels carries her signature guaranteeing authenticity. Because human hands create each accessory, each piece will vary slightly in finish, size, and detail. We trust this handmade art will compliment your lifestyle. Visit John-William Interiors today to see some beautiful examples of her work.
