My mother purchased a beautiful tufted white linen sofa when I was six years old. The sofa was from Century Furniture (still one of the best manufacturers in the business) and she kept that sofa looking new for about twenty years! Why do some sofas look new for years while others need to be replaced after only a few months? Ever wonder how one store can offer sofas starting at around $299.00 and other stores offer sofas starting at $1,999.00 and going up to $10,000.00 or more?
Quality sofas begin with kiln-dried hardwood frames that are screwed, dowelled, corner blocked and glued for stability. The inner suspensions are 8-way hand-tied or of modern sinuous coils designed to provide years of reliable support. Seat cushions contain springs, foam, memory foam or down depending on the desired level of softness and plush. Fabrics are carefully matched so that patterns “flow” over the entire piece of furniture. Fabrics, leathers and trims are exquisitely matched and tailored to the style of the sofa and give it a unique and beautiful character.
In order to cut costs and produce that $299.00 sofa you see advertised, manufacturers must cut corners. Cheaper frames, cheaper construction, and cheaper fabrics allow them to cut the price down to $299.00.
Invest in the best, most beautiful sofa you can. Choose wisely and the beauty will endure for years to come. Long after you have forgotten the price, you will enjoy the memories of hours spent visiting with family and friends or simply relaxing in the comfort and luxury of your own home.

The Art Gallery at JWI is excited to announce that we've recently acquired original works by famed artist Barbara Bilotta. An abstract impressionist, Bilotta believes in using the flow of colors and their relationship to trigger the imagination. 'The language of form remains the key to unlocking the magic of art,' says Bilotta of her work, which consists mostly of acryllic with resin on canvas. Stop into The Art Gallery at JWI to view "Description of Being" (featured right), "Big Red," "Rythym and Blue" (featured below), and much more from her collection.
