Furniture Market Offers Great Inspiration
Two of our designers, Diana Johnston and Terry Davey, just attended the recent Fall International Furniture Market in Highpoint, North Carolina. This market features hundreds of permanent and temporary manufacturer’s showrooms to display their most recent product offerings.
At this particular market we were most inspired by the way many showrooms incorporated fine art into their room settings. Whether the space was light and contemporary, a bit more traditional or dark and moody the art made the room by combining interesting art of different sizes into a gallery collection.
Jewel tones continue to play a predominate role and often unexpected patterns and colors were combined to make the vignettes unusual and exciting. Color inspiration came in the form of art, fabrics and accessories in various blues and greens with touches of rosewood and ruby.
Various spaces featured a different mix of colors, patterns and styles for the unexpected look.
The “gallery effect” was used in many instances to create an interesting backdrop.
Classic black walls and white upholstery, coupled with bold black and white art made this room.
Neutral furnishings were transformed by art. What would this have looked like without this art?
The buying trip was a huge success! We purchased art, lighting, accessories and fine furnishings, which have already begun to arrive! Come in to see these wonderful new selections and feel free to contact us if you are looking for something special. If we don’t have it we can order it for you.
We offer interior design services to help you make your home everything you dreamed it could be.
